Critically acclaimed for his spontaneous and distinctive style
Originally trained as a graphic designer, fine art artist Raymond Pang a.k.a. Wave Idea, was born to a fisherman’s family in Hong Kong and spent most of his adolescence living at sea. Critically acclaimed for his spontaneous and distinctive style, he immerses his concepts from organic forms depicting whales, ripples and waves in his sculptures and drawings. In his continuous search for serenity, his artwork demonstrates a soft, sensual touch using humble materials such as stone, wood and copper wire.
His contemporary exhibitions: Art Display Master Plan 2022 in Hong Kong International Airport, Junk! Woodworking Exhibition at the Hong Kong Flower Show 2019, [HKIFF43 x HOUSE 1881] – Corridor of Cinematic Treasure Film Poster Exhibition 2019, Surging Traces, Sculpting Dynamics Solo Exhibition 2018 at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, Ink Asia 2016 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
His artworks were displayed at various locations, including art shows and galleries in the United States, and Switzerland, Eslite in Taipei, MOCA in Shanghai, the Zhongshan Expo Centre, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Hong Kong Arts Centre, the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, the Hong Kong City Hall, and also venues such as the Former Police Married Quarters (PMQ), the Youth Square, the Hong Kong Bankers Club, the Cyberport Arcade and the Fotanian Open Studio.
